Johann Fidel Anton Joseph von Gaugreben (born February 22, 1848 in Konstanz , † January 11, 1912 in Bruchhausen an den Steinen ) was a German landowner and Prussian district administrator in the Brilon district .

Life

He came from the Westphalian noble family Gaugreben . His father was Karl Friedrich von Gaugreben, the mother was Marie Emilie (née von Thurn-Valsassina ). His father had received approval from the Prussian government to continue using the title of baron. Gaugreben was the owner of the manor and castle Bruchhausen with an associated property of 1250 ha.

Gaugreben attended high school in Paderborn up to the Prima. Then he worked as a farmer on the family estate. In 1873/74 he served as a one-year volunteer in the 3rd Westphalian Infantry Regiment No. 16. He left military service as second lieutenant in the reserve. Then he attended the Forest Academy in Münden from 1874 . In 1875 he went to the Altenbeken Forest District for practical training . From 1877 von Gaugreben worked at the Warendorf district office . In 1882 he became an alderman for the Bigge Office . Since 1899 he was district deputy of the Brilon district. From 1900 he managed the district office of the Brilon district and one year later he was definitively appointed district administrator. In 1909 he asked to be released for health reasons. Gaugreben was a member of the Westphalian Antiquities Association .
