Rudolf Kraft (politician)

Rudolf Kraft (born February 24, 1923 in Scharfenberg , Brilon , North Rhine-Westphalia , † 1993 ) was a German local politician and honorary district administrator ( CDU ).

Life and work

After attending school, he completed an apprenticeship as a pastry chef from 1937 to 1940 and worked as a journeyman . After serving in the war from 1941 to 1945, he initially worked as a journeyman baker . In 1946 he passed the master's examination in this trade and initially worked as a professional baker. From 1950 to 1961 he worked in a textile company.

Kraft used this time to continue training at the evening adult education center. From 1961 he was retrained to become a banker . This was followed by a job at a savings and loan fund and a Volksbank .

He was married and had four children.

From 1956 to December 31, 1974 he belonged to the district council of the then Brilon district and from 1975 to October 1, 1974 to the district council of the newly formed Hochsauerlandkreis . From 1956 to 1974 Kraft was a member of the community council of the community Scharfenberg.

Public offices

Kraft was district administrator for the district of Brilon from October 4, 1974 until the regional reform on December 31, 1974 . The assumption of this office took place because of the resignation of District Administrator Biederbeck. From 1975 to 1989 Kraft was deputy district administrator in the Hochsauerland district.

From 1968 to 1974 he was mayor of Scharfenberg.

He was active in various committees of the district assembly of North Rhine-Westphalia .

On August 2, 1982, Kraft was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on Ribbon and on November 20, 1989 the Federal Cross of Merit, 1st class. He also received the Brilon Circle of Honor.
