Johannes Alois Theodor Nienhausen-Eickenscheid (born June 24, 1756 in Rotthausen , † March 2, 1815 in Kray ) was a German politician .

Live and act

Johannes Alois Theodor Nienhausen was the son of a landowner. He studied theology and law, but remained without a degree.

Under the first Maire (mayor) of Altenessen , Bernhard Radhoff, Nienhausen was first alderman. After Radhoff's release by the French on June 17, 1811, Nienhausen became Maire von Altenessen and remained so until his death. The municipality of Altenessen, formed in 1808, became an independent mayor's office in 1813. Until 1874 Frillendorf , Huttrop , Karnap , Schonnebeck , Katernberg , Rotthausen , Rüttenscheid and Stoppenberg belonged to it .

Like his predecessor Radhoff, Nienhausen tried to protect the population from attacks and exploitation by the French troops. In 1814 he became chief of the Landsturm battalion in Altenessen.

In Essen-Altenessen-Süd the former Jakobstrasse was named after him as Nienhausenstrasse in 1915.
