Johannes Arnold (writer)

Johannes Arnold (born July 17, 1928 in Chemnitz , † December 5, 1987 in Karl-Marx-Stadt ) was a German writer .

Life

After attending elementary school in Chemnitz, he began an apprenticeship as a clerk in 1943, which he completed in 1946 after it was interrupted by the Second World War. He then took up a job at the City Council of Chemnitz. Also in 1946 he joined the SED . From 1955 he worked as a freelance writer and journalist and at the same time editor of the cultural magazine "Blickpunkt". In 1963 Arnold took over the chairmanship of the writers' association in the Karl-Marx-Stadt district .
