Johannes Bösiger (born October 9, 1962 in Freiburg im Breisgau ) is a German screenwriter and film producer.

Life and work

Johannes Bösiger was born as the son of the film and theater actor and director Paul Bösiger in Freiburg im Breisgau . At the age of fourteen he was already playing professional theater at the Städtische Bühnen Nürnberg, and appeared almost 130 times as the main actor in the play Schweig, Bub! Directed by Friedrich Schirmer and Herbert Lehnert . from Fitzgerald Kusz , did an internship with his father. After the death of his father, he moved to Switzerland, where Johannes Bösiger became a journalist after completing an apprenticeship as a bookseller. After various other production experiences, the attempt to set up a cultural company in Zurich followed between 1996 and 2006. After the failure of this project due to legal resistance, Johannes Bösiger is now engaged as an author and producer for international English-language projects. Early encounters with Frank Daniel , Douglas Sirk and others shaped his understanding of the craft of film. In 1993 Johannes Bösiger completed the Film Finance Master Class at the European Media Business School in Copenhagen together with Peter Aalbæk Jensen , producer of Lars von Trier .

In addition to his main activity as an author and producer, Johannes Bösiger was a member of the management of the Locarno International Film Festival between 1989 and 1995 , a founding member of the Carl Mayer script competition in Graz, co-initiator in 2007 and until the end of 2011 a consultant in the “Culinary Cinema” section of the Berlinale , headed by Thomas Struck as well as advisor to various other film festivals, including the Pune International Film Festival in India.

Johannes Boesiger has been Managing Director of Jovera Pictures AG / SA / Ltd since 2017 and as a screenwriter and producer in preparation for the film Fly Little Bird .

Johannes Bösiger is the father of two children from his first marriage and a daughter from his second marriage and now lives in Zurich.
