European Football League 1989

On the 1989 season of the European Football League took part nine teams. The semi-finals and finals were played in Legnano , Italy , which is why the local Legnano Frogs as hosts were automatically qualified for the semi-finals. The other participants had to play one or two preliminary rounds to get to the semifinals. Germany was represented by the Red Barons Cologne , the 1988 German Bowl winner . They were eliminated in the semifinals against the Legnano Frogs, in the game for third place the Cologne team had to admit defeat to the Helsinki Roosters 7-0. The Legnano Frogs won the Eurobowl III with a 27-23 win over the Amsterdam Crusaders . The final took place in the Stadio Giovanni Mari in Legnano.
