European Football League 2001
The 2001 season of the European Football League was carried out similarly to the previous year. In addition to a Northern League and a Southern League, other teams were combined in smaller divisions. In these various qualifying games, the participants were played for the quarter-finals. After the withdrawal of Oslo there was the situation that all participants of the Northern and Southern League took part in the quarter-finals regardless of their sporting performance.
No club from Germany took part in the European Football League in 2001. Austria sent the Vienna Vikings and the Tyrolean Raiders into the race, who met in the quarter-finals for a direct duel. As in previous years, the St. Gallen Vipers competed for Switzerland .
