European Football League 2014

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The European Football League 2014 was the 28th season of the European Football League . It was also the first season in which the Big6 European Football League replaced the EFL to determine the Eurobowl winner. The EFL thus moved into second place behind the newly created Big6 EFL. The EFL final has been renamed the EFL Bowl. The mode of competition has also been changed. In a group phase, three teams competed against each other in two groups. Each team enjoyed home rights once. The group winners qualified for the final.

Attendees

In Division 1, Badalona Dracs, the Alphen Eagles and the Basel Gladiators competed in teams that had competed at least once in the EFL or in the EFAF Cup in the past two years. The second division was a purely German league, with the Cologne Falcons, the Düsseldorf Panthers and the Kiel Baltic Hurricanes all three participants coming from the GFL Nord . Kiel had the most recent EFL history of the three teams with a participation in 2012. For the Falcons it was the first appearance in an international competition.
