European Football League 2013

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The European Football League 2013 was the 27th season of the European Football League and also the last season in which the EFL, the top European tournament, determined the Eurobowl winner. The season started on April 6, 2013 and ended on July 6, 2013 with the Eurobowl XXVII . This was the new edition of the final of 2008. Again the two top Austrian teams Raiffeisen Vikings Vienna and Swarco Raiders Tirol faced each other in Innsbruck's Tivoli Stadion Tirol . In the second purely Austrian Eurobowl, however, the Vikings prevailed this time and thus expanded their position as record holders.

mode

As in previous seasons of the European Football League , four participants were played for the quarter-finals in a preliminary round. The other four participants in the quarter-finals were the semi-finalists of the previous year , who each enjoyed home rights.

Preliminary round

This year there was no division 3. In division 2, the team in second place qualified in addition to the first place. The teams that did not qualify for the quarter-finals had the opportunity to take part in the quarter-finals of the EFAF Cup , but had to apply by the end of February. None of the teams took advantage of this option.

Division 1

The German master from Schwäbisch Hall had no problems with the French master Spartiates d'Amiens. The Swabians were able to win both games by a clear margin and achieved an overall result of 107: 25. Amiens played in the first leg with only 23 players and in the second leg with only 22 players. Both games were broadcast live on the internet.
