Johannes Borer

Johannes Borer (born September 18, 1949 in Zwingen / BL ) is a Swiss cartoonist , draftsman and illustrator .

Life

Borer grew up in Zwingen near Basel and, after completing a commercial school and training as a company secretary at the post office, retrained to become a graphic designer and later an advertising assistant. After a few years as a graphic designer and advertising consultant in Zurich , he worked as a freelance cartoonist, puzzle maker and illustrator. In 1980 he moved to Allschwil near Basel and has lived in Sion , Valais , since 2010 .

The first drawings appeared in 1973 in the magazines Schweizer Jugend und Team , and since then in over 100 newspapers and magazines worldwide. From 1984 regularly in Nebelspalter , Stern , Punch , Pardon , Lui , Eulenspiegel , Reader's Digest , Schweizer Illustrierte , SonntagsBlick , Die Zeit .
