Johannes Bornschürer
Johannes Bornschürer (born November 5, 1625 in Schmalkalden , † December 5, 1677 in Tann ) was a German Protestant theologian and hymn poet.
He studied theology at the universities of Marburg , Jena , Erfurt and Strasbourg and graduated with a master's degree . In 1650 he became pastor of Brotterode , 1657 of Steinbach-Hallenberg , 1661 a deacon in his native town of Schmalkalden and in 1670 a deacon of the city of Tann. He is editor of the Tannische Gesangbuch (1676), which contains five of his self-composed songs.
