Johannes Gerloff (* 1963 in the Black Forest ) is a German journalist and author with a focus on Israel and the Middle East .

Life

Gerloff grew up in Neuenbürg in the northern Black Forest. He did his community service in Ma'alot in northern Israel, where he worked with Holocaust survivors. He then studied Protestant theology in Tübingen , Vancouver and Prague until 1991 . Since he first volunteered in Israel in 1983, he has visited the country repeatedly. He first worked after his studies until 1998 at the International Christian Embassy in Jerusalem until 1999 as a foreign correspondent for the evangelical influenced Christian media group KEP in Jerusalem was entrusted with the construction of the correspondent offices "Israel Network", the Christian publishing houses, magazines as well as Deliveries to daily newspapers and radio stations. In 2016 he ended this exclusive collaboration in order to work increasingly networked with several plants in the future. Gerloff works with Ulrich W. Sahm , speaks Hebrew and is accredited as a journalist by the Israeli government and the Palestinian Authority .

Private

He is married to his wife Krista from Prague. The couple have five children and have lived in Jerusalem since 1994. The Gerloff family in Jerusalem belongs to the Hebrew-speaking messianic-Jewish community "Melech HaMelachim".
