Johannes Heinrich Nicolaus Hoppe (born February 13, 1861 in Horneburg , † July 22, 1925 in Stade ) was a lawyer and member of the German Reichstag .

Life

Hoppe attended elementary and private schools in Horneburg and Steinkirchen , the Gymnasium zu Stade and the universities of Munich and Berlin . During his studies in 1881 he became a member of the Babenbergia Munich fraternity . He passed the legal traineeship at the Supreme Court in Berlin and did his doctorate in Göttingen . After completing his studies and his year of service as a one-year volunteer, he took over a farm in Süderdeich near Balje , ran it himself until 1907 and then leased it to a relative. He was active in community service, in dike and sewer associations and in district service for many years. He was also captain of the Landwehr Field Artillery I and holder of the Landwehr Service Award I Class .

From 1909 to 1918 he was a member of the German Reichstag for the constituency of Hanover 18 ( Stade , Geestemünde , Bremervörde , Osterholz ) and the National Liberal Party .
