Johannes Kammler

Johannes Kammler (* 1988 in Augsburg ) is a German opera , concert and lied singer with a baritone voice .

biography

Johannes Kammler worked with the Augsburger Domsingknaben, led by his father Reinhard Kammler, and then studied singing in Freiburg, Toronto and at the Guildhall School of Music in London. At the Bavarian State Opera he was a member of the opera studio from 2015 to 2017 and a member of the ensemble in the 2017/2018 season. He has been a member of the Stuttgart State Opera ensemble since 2018 . In March 2019, Rolando Villazón introduced him to Arte as part of the program Stars of Tomorrow .

As a concert singer, Johannes Kammler was the soloist in the first performance of Haydn's Creation in Hamburg's Elbphilharmonie under Thomas Hengelbrock in January 2017 . At the Salzburg Festival 2018 he was involved in the concert performance of Gottfried von Einem's Der Prozess . His concert repertoire also includes the role of Pilatus and the bass arias in Bach's St. Matthew Passion .

As a recitalist, he created in May 2018 at the Munich concert series Songs of life together with Katharina Ruckgaber (soprano) and Akemi Murakami (piano), the Italian Songbook by Hugo Wolf .
