Johannes Krabbe (Pastor)

Johannes Krabbe , complete Johannes Siegmund Krabbe (born May 16, 1839 in Hamburg , † January 24, 1901 in Ludwigslust ) was a German Evangelical Lutheran clergyman and author.

Life

Krabbe came from a family of theologians and was a son of Otto Carsten Krabbe . Theodor Krabbe was his brother. He attended the large city school in Rostock and from Easter 1858 studied Protestant theology at the universities of Rostock , Berlin and Erlangen . He completed his studies again in Rostock in 1861 and worked as a private tutor in Ratzeburg from 1862 to 1864 . In 1863 he received his PhD from the University of Rostock. theol. PhD.

In 1864 he was first sub-rector of the school in Ludwigslust and in 1865 rector, cantor and organist in Ticino ; In 1866 he was appointed chaplain at the Bethlehem Abbey in Ludwigslust under the direction of Helene von Bülow . He gave up this position in 1870 to work in war hospitals in France during the Franco-German War .

In 1875 he bought a granary in Bad Ischl and had it expanded by the building councilor Ludwig F. Krüger into the Evangelical Parish Church of Bad Ischl .

In 1876 he founded the Bethesda Children's Hospital in Bad Sülze to treat children with tuberculosis and scrofula .
