Johannes Prause
Johannes Prause (* 1755 ; † 1800 ) was a German organ builder in Kronstadt . He was one of the most important organ builders in Transylvania during the baroque period.
Life
Johannes Prause came from Schräbsdorf (today Bobolice) in Lower Silesia. In 1778 he came to Kronstadt in what was then the Habsburg town of Transylvania to repair and expand the organ in the Black Church . He stayed in the city and became one of the most important organ builders in Transylvania in his time. In 1782 Franz Prause and Michael Honigberger were named as assistants in Neustadt.

Johannes Prause built over 20 organs in Transylvania, including 12 in Burzenland . Some have been preserved.
