John Barry Nusum (born March 18, 1981 in Mineola , New York ) is a United States- born former Bermudian national soccer player and today's coach .

Career

Born in Mineola near New York, Nusum grew up in Devonshire on Bermuda . Between 1998 and 2001 he played for the Furman Paladins , the college team of Furman University, and was elected three times to the NSCAA All-America first team (College All-Star-Team). In 2002 he was selected in 35th place in the MLS SuperDraft by Columbus Crew , but did not play a competitive game for Crew. As a result, he changed clubs frequently. Since the 2004/05 season he played in parallel in the Major Indoor Soccer League for Philadelphia KiXX . In March 2009, he signed a contract with Crystal Palace Baltimore in the United Soccer Leagues Second Division . From 2012 to 2014 he played again for various clubs in Bermuda .

He has been the coach of Robin Hood FC since June 2017 .

In the national team, the center forward was used 36 times from 2000 to 2013 and scored 19 goals. In the World Cup qualifier for the 2010 World Cup against Trinidad and Tobago , he scored both goals in a 2-1 first leg win.

His father, John Nusum, was also a Bermuda international as a defender.
