John Bosco Manat Chuabsamai ( Thai : ย อ ห์ น บอส โก มนัส จวบ สมัย , pronunciation: [ yɔːn bɔ̀ːtkoː mánát ʨùːapsàmaj ]; * October 31, 1935 in Tambon Bang Nok Khwaek, Amphoe Bang Khonthi , Samut Songkhram province , central Thailand ; † 20. October 2011 in Amphoe Ban Pong ) was a Thai clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Ratchaburi .

Life

John Bosco Manat Chuabsamai was ordained a priest on May 10, 1961 . He was secretary of the St. John Bosco house in Ratchaburi (1961/63), secretary of Mae Phra Fatima , a church in the Tambon Huai Yang of the district ( Amphoe ) Thap Sakae in the province of Prachuap Khiri Khan ( ปลัด วัด แม่พระฟาติมา ห้วย ยาง ประจวบคีรีขันธ์ ) (1963–65) and Secretary of Mae Phra Maha Thuk Church in Tha Muang County, Kanchanaburi Province ( ปลัด วัด แม่ พระ มหา ทุกข์ ท่าม่วง ) (1965–69). After working as director of an art school (1968-69), he was a priest of the Mae Phra Maha Thuk ( เจ้าอาวาส วัด แม่ พระ มหา ทุกข์ ท่าม่วง ) church from 1969 to 1974 . From 1972 to 1974 he was also involved in the Institute of Social Order (ISO) in Manila , Philippines, and the Family Life Center in Del Monte, Philippines. From 1974 to 1976 he taught at Daruna , a religious school in Ratchaburi. From 1976 to 1978 he completed a philosophy degree at the Catholic University of America and taught from 1978 to 1984 at the philosophy faculty of Saengtham College ( วิทยาลัย แสง ธรรม ); he was also its vice-president. In a sabbatical year 1984/85 he studied at the University of Zurich and the Catholic University of Leuven . From 1985 to 1996 he was the principal of Saengtham College.

Pope . John Paul II appointed him on 25 November 1985 Bishop of Ratchaburi and donated to him on January 6, 1986 at St. Peter's Basilica , the episcopal ordination ; Co- consecrators were the Cardinal Secretary of State Agostino Casaroli , and Cardinal Bernardin Gantin , Prefect of the Congregation for Bishops .

On July 24, 2003, Pope John Paul II accepted his resignation. He died in Ban Pong Hospital .
