John Brandeberry

John Benjamin Brande Berry (* 13. December 1893 in Wood County , Ohio , United States ; † 23. September 1953 in Toledo , Lucas County , Ohio, United States) was an American American football trainer and professor at the University of Toledo .

biography

Brandeberry graduated from the University of Mount Union in 1913 , where he played basketball and American football . In 1915 he became a teacher at the University of Toledo . In 1917 he was persuaded to become the first head coach of the University of Toledo football team . The team lost all three games at 262 permitted points without success of their own. In 1943 he became the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering. He died of a heart attack in 1953 at the age of 59.
