John Brownjohn

John Nevil Maxwell Brownjohn (born April 11, 1929 in Rickmansworth , Hertfordshire , † January 6, 2020 ) was a British translator and screenwriter .

Life

Brownjohn began translating his first texts from German while still studying German . After graduating, he started his own business as a freelance translator and has translated more than 150 works over the years.

At the end of the 1980s, Brownjohn met the director Roman Polański and worked on a number of films - e. B. Tess or Bitter Moon - with him.
