John Bush (production designer)
John Bush (born before 1980) is a production designer .
Life
Bush began his career on the film staff in 1980 as a buyer in the outdoor props for the British television series Doctor Who with Tom Baker as the fourth doctor . More work for the BBC followed , including a miniseries about Robert Oppenheimer . He won a Primetime Emmy in 1997 for his participation in the television film Jane Austen's Emma with Kate Beckinsale in the title role . Until the mid-1990s he mainly worked for television, after which his work shifted to film.
He and art director Eve Stewart were nominated for an Oscar in the category Best Production Design in 2000 for the comedy Topsy-Turvy - Upside down , but that year the award went to Sleepy Hollow .
He has worked on a number of superhero films since the early 2010s . For Captain America: The First Avenger and Doctor Strange he was nominated for the "Excellence in Production Design Award" from the Art Directors Guild . He also received a nomination for the BAFTA Film Award in the category Best Production Design for Doctor Strange .
