John England (bishop)
John England (born September 13, 1786 in Cork , Ireland , † April 11, 1842 ) was Bishop of Charleston .
Life
John England received on 11 October 1808 by the Bishop of Cork , Francis Moylan , the sacrament of Holy Orders .
On August 11, 1820, Pope Pius VII appointed him first bishop of the diocese of Charleston, established a month earlier . The Coadjutor Bishop of Cork, John Murphy , gave him on 21 September of the same year consecration ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Ossory , Kyran Marum and the Bishop of Richmond , Patrick Kelly .
