John Warburton (born June 18, 1899 in Liverpool , England , † October 27, 1981 in Sherman Oaks , California ) was a British actor .
Life
Born in Britain, John Warburton appeared on Broadway in 1930 in the comedy Bird in Hand . In 1932 the theater actor came to Hollywood , where from then on he mainly played slightly staid, but dutiful British people in supporting roles. In the Oscar-winning drama Kavalkade, for example, he played the son of an English couple who went on his honeymoon on the Titanic and died in the process. In the following decades, the black-haired actor made film appearances at irregular intervals, including in larger roles in Play with Fate alongside Ingrid Bergman and Gary Cooper and in His Majesty's Body Chefs alongside Laurel and Hardy . In later years of his career, Warburton also made frequent guest appearances on television and often impersonated figures of authority. In total, by the end of his career in 1978, he had almost 60 film and television appearances.
In September 1935 he married Lucille Morrison. He died of cancer in 1981 at the age of 82.
