Jon Boie Engen (born March 9, 1957 in Oslo - † April 26, 2018 ) was an American biathlete and cross-country skier .

Jon Engen was initially a citizen of his home country Norway. In 1980 he emigrated to the USA. The engineer , who lives in West Yellowstone, was also active there and had been a member of the US national cross-country skiing team since the second half of the 1980s. At the 1988 Winter Olympics , he started in two races. He was 51st over 30 kilometers and did not finish the 50 kilometer race. He has been biathlon since 1985. In 1992 Engen started in Albertville in biathlon at the Winter Olympics . In singles he was 70th, as a starting runner with Duncan Douglas , Josh Thompson and Curt Schreiner Season 13. Two years later , Engen was 64th of the individual in Lillehammer and 14th in the relay race with Curt Schreiner, Dave Jareckie and Duncan Douglas. In his last two races in the World Cup he achieved his best results in the racing series in Canmore with ranks 56 in the individual and 54 in the sprint.

After his active time as a competitive athlete, Engen continued to do sports. In cross-country skiing, he won several titles at world championships in the Masters area. He also competed in FIS races , the Continental Cup , the Marathon Cup and the NorAm Cup again and again until the mid-2000s . He also works as a ski trainer.
