Jon Sherman also Jonathan A. Sherman is an American director and screenwriter who became internationally known for films like Sekt or Selters or Alle liebe Lucy .

life and career

Jon Sherman, born Jonathan Andrew Sherman, has worked in the film business in a variety of roles since the mid-1990s. In 1988 he received a Bachelor of Arts from Wesleyan University in Middletown , Connecticut , and also studied at Columbia University in New York , where he graduated in 1994 with an MFA (Master of Fine Arts) in screenwriting .

In 1996, Sherman first directed the romantic comedy Sekt or Selters , for which he also wrote the screenplay. Susan Floyd and Dan Futterman played the leading roles . In 2002 he directed the comedy All love Lucy with the cast Monica Potter in the female lead as Lucy and in the male supporting roles John Hannah , Gael García Bernal , Anthony LaPaglia , Henry Thomas and David Boreanaz . Jon Sherman was able to engage director Harold Ramis and Oscar winner Julie Christie in brief guest starring roles . The film, produced by Fabien Liron and Tim Perell, was shot on location in Manhattan . The film started as the opening film in 2002 at the Deauville Film Festival in France . In 2004, Sherman directed the televised film My Sexiest Mistake with Sabrina Lloyd . In 2013 he co-directed the dramatic short film Breezewood alongside Jonathan Tazewell .

In addition to his film work, Jon Sherman also works as an Assistant Professor of Film at Kenyon College , Ohio .
