Jonas Jonasson
Jonas Jonasson (born July 6, 1961 in Växjö , Småland ) is a Swedish journalist and writer .
Life
After studying in Gothenburg, Jonasson worked as a journalist for the newspapers Smålandsposten and Expressen and as a freelance media consultant. After 20 years in the media, Jonasson moved from Sweden to Ponte Tresa in Ticino on Lake Lugano , but since autumn 2011 he has been living in Sweden again with his son.
Works
Jonasson's first novel was published in 2009 under the original title Hundraåringen som klev ut genom fönstret och försvann . In 2010 it was the best-selling book in Sweden. It has now been translated into 45 languages. In Germany the book was published in August 2011 under the title The Hundred Years, which rose out of the window and disappeared , reached in September 2011, the top 10 and in early 2012 the top of the mirror - bestseller list . Eleven months after the start of sales, more than a million copies had been sold in Germany. In December 2013, the film adaptation of the novel by director Felix Herngren opened in Swedish cinemas . The cinema release in Germany was on March 20, 2014. In 2016 the film sequel The Hundred and One Year Old Who Did n't Pay the Bill and Disappeared , in which Jonasson was involved as a screenwriter.
In September 2013 Jonasson's second novel was published in Sweden under the original title Analfabeten som kunde räkna . It is about a young latrine barrel carrier from a slum in South Africa. At first she can neither read nor write. However, she is really clever. Eventually she ended up with a nuclear weapons technician, with whom she was working on an atomic bomb. The German translation was published on November 15, 2013 under the title Die Illphabetin who could count . Immediately after publication, the book entered the Spiegel bestseller list at number 1.
The third novel Mördar-Anders och hans vänner (including en och annan ovän) was published in Sweden on September 23, 2015, the German translation Mörder Anders und seine Freunde along with one or the other enemy on April 7, 2016. This also reached the top the Spiegel bestseller list.
On September 6, 2018, the novel Hundraettåringen - som tänkte att han tänkte för mycket (in German: “The hundred-year- old who came back to save the world”) was published in Germany, the continuation of the first book, “The hundred-year- old who from the Window rose and disappeared ”.
