Jonas Lantto (born May 22, 1987 in Jukkasjärvi församling , Sweden ) is a Swedish football player . The attacking midfielder , nicknamed "Norrlands Maradona " due to his height of 1.69 meters , played through several Swedish youth national teams and made his debut in the Swedish U-21 team in 2008 .

Career

Lantto started playing football at Kiruna FF . There he was noticed by those responsible for Svenska Fotbollförbundet in his youth and was first used in the national jersey in 2004 in the Swedish U-17 national team. In 2006 he moved up to the men's team of the club and made his debut in the third-class Division1 Norra . Before the 2007 season he moved to Gefle IF in Allsvenskan . The youngster was able to establish himself in the first division squad straight away and initially played regularly as a substitute, but found himself in the starting eleven six times in his debut season.

After Lantto had established himself in the junior national teams and was also regularly used in the Allsvenskan, Jörgen Lennartsson and Tommy Söderberg , the coaches of the Swedish U-21 team , nominated the midfielder for a short tournament in Sweden in early 2008. On February 6th of Year he finally made his debut in the 3-0 defeat against the Portuguese U21 team in the Swedish U21 national team. Although he had fought for a regular place in the club team in the middle of the 2008 season at the side of Amadou Jawo , Yannick Bapupa and Hans Berggren on the offensive, he could not establish himself in the national team. With eight goal participations, he was one of the club's most conspicuous offensive players alongside Berggren and Jawo in the following year and helped him to stay in the league again by reaching tenth place in the table. During the season he extended his contract, which was now valid until the end of 2010. He remained loyal to coach Per Olsson's team afterwards, and in the summer of 2011 he renewed his long-term contract.

For the 2019 season he moved to FK Karlskrona .
