Jonathan Gilad

Jonathan Gilad (born February 17, 1981 in Marseille ) is a French pianist .

Life

Gilad is considered by critics to be an exceptional piano talent . At the age of eleven, he won the Premier Grand Prix de la Ville de Marseille, the international youth competition Prémio Mozart in Geneva and the price of the Summer Academy in Salzburg .

Since Gilad was too young for the Paris Conservatory after his training in Marseille , he was initially supervised by the pianist and pedagogue Dmitri Bashkirow , whom he still visits regularly in Madrid ever since . He made his first appearance in the USA in 1996 and enjoyed great audiences in Chicago when he replaced Maurizio Pollini . This was followed by various appearances at the Ruhr Piano Festival , in Kuhmo , Finland , in Verbier , Ravinia , Moscow and Saint Petersburg .

In October 1998 Gilad released his first solo album entitled "Debut" with works by Mozart , Beethoven and Brahms .

Jonathan Gilad graduated from the École polytechnique in Paris and the École Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées .
