Midol began his sports career as an alpine ski racer . From 2003 to 2011 he mainly competed in FIS races . His greatest success was at the Winter Universiade 2009 in Yabuli . There he won the bronze medal in slalom and giant slalom. At the end of the 2010/11 season he switched to the freestyle discipline ski cross. He drove his first Freestyle World Cup race in San Candido in December 2011 , which he finished in 41st place. In January 2013 he achieved his first top ten placement in the World Cup with fourth place in Les Contamines . At the Freestyle Skiing World Championships 2013 in Voss he came in 51st place. In his first Olympic participation in Sochi in 2014 , he reached the final and won the bronze medal. In March 2014 he reached his first World Cup podiums with second place in Åre . In the 2014/15 season he took second place in Val Thorens and at the end of the season he finished 12th in the Ski Cross World Cup. At the Freestyle Skiing World Championships 2015 on Kreischberg , he came in 11th place.
On December 21, 2018, Midol celebrated its first World Cup victory in Innichen.
