action
Johnny West is a half-breed and a feared shooter. In the village he comes to, two brothers and a group of unscrupulous men spread fear and terror. So they have a gold mine owner in their power and are trying to be used as the heir of his fortune. They also play a bad game with Johnny West, so that instead of them he is jailed for bank robbery. However, he can break out and, with the help of two traders, decimate the bandits. Then he catches the two brothers, shoots them and gives the stolen money back to the owners. He then rides towards new adventures.
criticism
"It's a very lively action western who is well filmed and edited and gives 90 extremely entertaining minutes without too much depth," says Christian Keßler in his lexicon on the genre. On the other hand, the lexicon of international films describes the strip for short as "junk". The Evangelische Film-Beobachter has a slightly better opinion of the work : "Apart from the industry-standard clichés in European westerns, this [...] co-production [...] can at least collect a few plus points."
Remarks
Katyna Ranieri interprets the song "Johnny West" . It was released as a single.
Usually the eponymous hero is played as Johnny .
