Jorryt van Hoof (born November 15, 1982 in Eindhoven ) is a professional Dutch poker player .
Personal
Van Hoof played the trading card game Magic: The Gathering and came through to poker. He studied industrial engineering for a year at the Technical University of Eindhoven and then worked in a toy store. As a professional poker player, van Hoof lived in Dublin and Malta ; he now lives in London .
Poker career
Van Hoof plays preferred cash games of the variant PLO . He plays on the online poker platform PokerStars under the nickname TheCleaner11 . Van Hoof was sponsored by Full Tilt Poker for a while and performed under his real name at this online poker room. Since 2005 he has been taking part in renowned live tournaments .
Van Hoof won the World Series of Poker (WSOP) at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas for the first time at the end of June 2005 and made it into the money in a tournament in No Limit Hold'em . In November 2006 he finished seventh at the Main Event of the Master Classics of Poker in Amsterdam and received more than 50,000 euros . At the 2014 WSOP , van Hoof reached the final table as the chip leader at the main event , which was played in November 2014. There he took third place, endowed with over 3.8 million US dollars . In August 2019, van Hoof got the paid seats at two events of the European Poker Tour (EPT) in Barcelona and secured more than 135,000 euros. At the end of November 2019 he won the High Roller of the Master Classics of Poker with a prize money of around 165,000 euros. At the EPT in Prague, van Hoof finished second in a side event in mid-December 2019, for which he received over 270,000 euros. In January 2020, he won a Pot Limit Omaha tournament at the Aussie Millions Poker Championship in Melbourne and secured the grand prize of the equivalent of more than $ 320,000.
In total, van Hoof has earned more than $ 5.5 million with poker in live tournaments, making him the most successful Dutch poker player .
