José-Miguel Ullán

José-Miguel Ullán (born October 30, 1944 in Villarino de los Aires , Salamanca province , † May 23, 2009 in Madrid ) was a Spanish poet , art historian and journalist .

Life

Ullán settled in Madrid in 1959, where he later studied political science , social science and philosophy . During this time he also began to write his first radical, uncompromising poems, which can be assigned to both the avant-garde and pop culture , in the mid-1960s , and in 1965 he published his first volume of poetry, El jornal . During the Franco dictatorship of Francisco Franco , he went in 1966 into exile to France , where he served as director of the Castilian shipments of to de Office Radio Diffusion Télévision Française belonging (ORTF) cultural channel France Culture was responsible. In addition, between 1968 and 2007 he was the literary critic magazine Ondulaciones. In the 1990s he published Visto y no visto (1994), Razón de nadie (1994) and Ardicia (1995), which he presented at the Madrid cultural center Residencia de Estudiantes . He was also the editor of the collection of poems published by Ediciones Cátedra.

Ullán died a few hours after the funeral of his friend, the literary critic Rafael Conte , of complications from cancer .
