José Miguel de Velasco Franco
José Miguel de Velasco Franco (born September 29, 1795 in Santa Cruz de la Sierra , † October 13, 1859 ibid) was a Bolivian general and politician. He was president of his country several times.

José Miguel de Velasco Franco, the son of Ramón Gonzáles de Velasco and Petrona Franco , worked in various functions in the military and rose to become general. He was politically active throughout his life and President of Bolivia for a total of four terms. He led the country in times of political instability and was involved in several revolts. He was a staunch opponent of his future successors in the office of President Manuel Isidoro Belzu and José Ballivián . One of his most important achievements was the new constitution for Bolivia during his third term in office, which replaced the Magna Carta of 1835. In his honor received the BolivianJosé Miguel de Velasco Province her name. Along with Víctor Paz Estenssoro , who also ruled four times, he was the president with the most terms.
