José Soleibe Arbeláez

José Soleibe Arbeláez (born November 17, 1938 in Cartago ) is a Colombian clergyman and emeritus bishop of Caldas .

Life

José Soleibe Arbeláez was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Cartagena on September 21, 1963 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him auxiliary bishop in Cali and titular bishop of Sullectum on July 19, 1999 . He was ordained episcopal on September 8th of the same year by the Archbishop of Cali, Isaías Duarte Cancino ; Co- consecrators were Héctor Luis Gutiérrez Pabón , Bishop of Chiquinquirá , and Edgar de Jesús García Gil , Auxiliary Bishop in Cali.

On December 6, 2002, he was appointed Bishop of Caldas .

Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation on January 28, 2015.
