Héctor Luis Gutiérrez Pabón (born May 17, 1937 in Cáqueza , Colombia ) is a Roman Catholic clergyman and bishop emeritus of Engativá .

Life

The auxiliary bishop in Bogotá , Emilio de Brigard Ortiz , donated him to the priestly ordination for the Archdiocese of Bogotá on September 22, 1962 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him auxiliary bishop in Cali and titular bishop of Segia on February 13, 1987 . He received his episcopal ordination from the Apostolic Nuncio in Colombia, Archbishop Angelo Acerbi , on March 25 of the same year; Co- consecrators were Mario Revollo Bravo , Archbishop of Bogotá , and Pedro Rubiano Sáenz , Archbishop of Cali.

On February 2, 1998, he was appointed Bishop of Chiquinquirá . On August 6, 2003 he was appointed the first bishop of the Engativá diocese, which was established on the same date, and was appointed to the office on September 21 of the same year.

Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation on June 26, 2015.
