The diocese of Engativá ( lat. : Dioecesis Engativensis , span. : Diócesis de Engativá ) is an in Colombia situated Roman Catholic diocese , based in the city of Bogotá belonging municipality Engativá .

history

The diocese Engativá was established on August 6, 2003 by Pope John Paul II with the Apostolic Constitution Ad efficacius providendum from the cession of territory to the Archdiocese of Bogotá and subordinated to it as a suffragan diocese. The first bishop was Héctor Luis Gutiérrez Pabón . On June 26, 2015, Pope Francis accepted his resignation and appointed Francisco Antonio Nieto Súa as his successor.
