José Torres (actor)

José Torres (* 1928 in Tocuyito ) is a Venezuelan actor .

Life

Torres began acting in 1959 and performed with various companies. In total, he was involved in more than 50 film productions. In the 1960s he played mostly shady characters of Mexican descent in almost 30 spaghetti westerns and other action-heavy films in Europe . In 1972 he returned to his home country, where he played for the television station Venevisión . From 1979 Torres was active for the VTV ( Venezolana de Televisión ). In the telenovela Kaina , broadcast from 1995 , he interpreted the role of Tacupay , with whose name he was henceforth synonymous. He was also active on stage and as an acting teacher. Torres ran a restaurant for fifteen years that was demolished in 2012.

His daughter Arlette Torres is also an actress.
