Josef Benischek

Josef Benischek (born February 23, 1841 in Philippsdorf , Silesia , † July 16, 1896 in Prague ) was an Austrian architect.

Life

After attending high school in Opava , he studied at the Polytechnic in Vienna from 1861 to 1865 . In 1873 he became the main architect of the newly founded Bohemian Construction and Real Estate Bank and moved to Prague. He became a member of the German Polytechnic Association in Prague. Its architectural language was based on the ornate neo-renaissance palace in Vienna during the early days . Benischek had been a member of the Austrian Association of Engineers and Architects since 1870 and chairman of the Chamber of Engineers in Bohemia from 1885 to 1891 .
