Josef Brunner (entrepreneur)

Josef Johannes Brunner (born October 21, 1981 in Munich ) is a German entrepreneur in the fields of internet security and environmental technology . Among other things, he is the founder and managing director of the AFT Group , with offices in Munich, Frankfurt am Main and New York City .

Life

Family and origin

Josef Brunner comes from a simple working-class family. His father, a baker, and his mother, a nurse, supported him early on in his entrepreneurial plans. Because of his ties to Munich, in contrast to the current trend of settling software and internet companies in Berlin , he started all of his companies in Munich.

Companies

At the age of 16, he founded his first company that specialized in security services for large companies and banks. His second company, also in the security sector, was taken up by Azlan, now part of Tech Data (NASDAQ TECD), and marketed as a "TrustInOne" solution. His third company, Bastille Networks, was partially taken over (asset deal) by Integralis AG . The fourth company, JouleX, was acquired by Cisco Systems in 2013 for US $ 107 million and has since been marketed worldwide as the Cisco EnergyWise solution. The sale is considered one of the most successful German environmental company successes. Josef Brunner currently heads the AFT Group, which includes AFT Property Development, AFT Ventures and AFT Capital. AFT stands for Advanced Future Technologies. Through various subsidiaries, the AFT Group invests in promising start-up companies that have the potential to become global market leaders, as well as in high-yield real estate projects in Germany . The focus is on securing the deposits of the investors, as well as the profitable interest on the entrusted funds.
