Josef Hackhofer (born March 18, 1863 in Wolfsberg ; † September 8, 1917 in Vienna ) was an Austrian architect.

After attending the secondary school in Klagenfurt , Josef Hackhofer studied from 1882 at the Vienna University of Technology , where he was a student of Victor Luntz and Karl König . He initially worked in various architecture studios, including as a draftsman for Otto Wagner .

From 1898 to 1906 he shared an office with Friedrich Ohmann , during which time several bridges were built over the Wien River and the milk drinking hall in the city ​​park . Hackhofer then worked independently or with other partners. His main works in the ranks Nouveau built High Bridge over the Tiefer Graben in Vienna's city center . In 1912 he was given at the International building trade exhibition in Leipzig the Prize of the City of Leipzig awarded.

Josef Hackhofer and his wife Hermina Elsa had two sons, Erich and Heinz. He died of a stroke in 1917 at the age of 54 and was buried in Vienna's central cemetery.
