Josef Harbrecht

Josef Harbrecht (born December 22, 1884 in Schwarzach ; † June 22, 1966 in Bühl ) was a German educator and politician ( Zentrum , BCSV , CDU ).

Life

After attending the Lender educational institute in Sasbach and the grammar school in Rastatt , Harbrecht began studying mathematics and natural sciences at the universities in Freiburg and Heidelberg , which he completed with the state examination for higher teaching qualifications. During his studies he became a member of the Catholic student associations WKSt.V. Unitas Rheno-Danubia in Freiburg and WKSt.V. Unitas Heidelberg. After completing his studies, he worked as a teacher at the colleges in Wolfach , Tauberbischofsheim and Oberkirch . Most recently, he was senior director at the secondary school in Bühl.

Before 1933, Harbrecht was a city ​​councilor for the Center Party in Bühl. From 1940 he worked in an active resistance group of the circle around Carl Friedrich Goerdeler .

After the Second World War , Harbrecht was co-founder and vice-president of the "Union of Active Forces Against Nazism for a Living West" ("Occident Union"). Shortly afterwards he joined the BCSV, which later became the CDU regional association in South Baden. He was a district councilor from 1946, from 1946 to 1947 a member of the Advisory State Assembly of the State of Baden and from 1952 to 1956 a member of the Constituent State Assembly and the State Parliament of Baden-Württemberg .
