Josef Maß

Josef Maß (born December 6, 1936 in Rottenburg an der Laaber , † January 10, 2006 in Munich ) was a German historian ( church historian ) and Roman Catholic clergyman of the Archdiocese of Munich and Freising.

After studying philosophy and Catholic theology , Maß was ordained a priest by Julius Döpfner in Freising in 1962 . He received his doctorate in church history in 1969 with a thesis on the diocese of Freising in the late Carolingian period. From 1973 until his death in 2006 he was pastor of the Christkönig parish in Munich-Nymphenburg .
