Josef Székely
Josef Székely (born February 2, 1838 in Sümeg , † October 18, 1901 in Vienna ) was an Austro-Hungarian photographer and chemist.
Life
Josef Székely attended school in Steinamanger and studied from 1855 at the University of Vienna under Josef Redtenbacher ; In 1860 he received a master's degree in pharmacy and two years later a doctorate in chemistry. In 1862 he founded the photo gallery "Székely & Gertinger" in Vienna, later the studio "Székely & Massak", which he continued from 1870 without a partner. From 1884 to 1891 he ran a dry plate factory together with Victor Angerer.
After Székely in 1869 Ludwig Angerer the light pressure had learned, he received in 1871 a patent for a process for the production of "photographs with highly sculptural effect."
In 1863, Székely took part in the expedition through the Drin and Vardar regions under the direction of Johann Georg von Hahn, which was carried out on behalf of the Academy of Sciences in Vienna .
From 1861 he was a member of the Photographic Society in Vienna.
