Josef Weißhaupt

Josef Weißhaupt (born September 29, 1863 in Pfullendorf ; † March 3, 1944 there ) was a German farmer and politician ( center ).

Life

Weißhaupt was born the son of a farmer. After graduating from primary school in 1878, he attended the brewing school in Augsburg . He completed his military service in 1883 with the 12th Bavarian Infantry Regiment in Neu-Ulm . Professionally, he worked as a farmer, innkeeper and owner of the Rößle brewery in Pfullendorf. He had been a member of the Baden Chamber of Agriculture since 1907 and served as its vice-president from 1921 to 1933. In 1918 he became president of the Baden farmers' association. From 1918 to 1919 he was deputy chairman of the Baden regional farmers' council and since 1921 a member of the German agricultural council .

Weißhaupt belonged to the German Center Party, was a city ​​councilor in Pfullendorf from 1896 to 1919 and from 1905 to 1918 a member of the Second Chamber of the Baden Estates Assembly in the Grand Duchy of Baden . In 1919 he was elected as a member of the state parliament of the Republic of Baden , of which he was a member until 1929.

From April 2, 1919 to November 21, 1929, Weißhaupt was a Councilor of State in the Baden state government. He was also a member of the Provisional Reich Economic Council from June 30, 1920 to April 6, 1933 .

After retiring from active politics, he worked as head brewer and master brewer in Augsburg.
