The Geiß II cabinet formed the state government of Baden from April 2, 1919 to August 4, 1920 .

In the session of the constituent national assembly of the Republic of Baden on April 2, 1919, a law was passed concerning the business group of the ministries and the president, his deputy, as well as the ministers and councilors were elected. On August 4, 1920, the state parliament changed the law concerning the business area of ​​the ministries and dissolved the ministry for foreign affairs. Reich and foreign affairs were now to be dealt with by a ministerial department, each assigned to the ministry administered by the incumbent president.
