Cabinet Schmitt III
The Schmitt III cabinet formed the state government of Baden from September 18, 1931 to March 10, 1933 .
In its 60th session on September 18, 1931, following the resignation of Adam Remmele, the state parliament elected new ministers for the departments of Justice (Schmitt), as well as Culture and Education (Baumgartner). Schmitt was also elected as the successor to Wittmann, who died on September 10th, as President, while no new deputy was elected.
In the dispute over the Baden Concordat , the SPD left the coalition at the end of November 1932.
In its 7th session on January 10, 1933, the state parliament elected Erwin Umhauer as the new interior minister after the death of Emil Maier. Schmitt was re-elected as president and Mattes as his deputy.
