Joseph Albrecht Christoph von Bieberstein-Pilchowsky (born June 4, 1730 in Kirsen; † October 3, 1815 in Tilsit ) was the Prussian major general and chief of the 12th Dragoon Regiment .

Life

He was the son of Mathias von Bieberstein-Pilchowsky, heir to Konopky and Pianken in Prussia, and his wife, born von Manstein from the Juckstein family .

Bieberstein had been a cadet in Berlin since July 6, 1743 and came to Queen Mother Sophie Dorothea as a page on September 12, 1745 . After her death on November 11, 1757, he was employed as a second lieutenant in the "Duke Eugen" dragoon regiment of the Prussian army . In the years to come, Bieberstein took part in the Seven Years' War . On April 21, 1764 he was staff captain and on June 8, 1772 captain and squadron chief . As a major he took part in the War of the Bavarian Succession in 1778/79 . He rose to the rank of colonel and was given command of the “von Schenck” dragoon regiment on October 27, 1790 . On November 5, 1793 he was appointed major general and chief of the Dragoon Regiment "von Kalckreuth". In 1794 he took part in the war in Poland. According to General Favrat , he fought valiantly in several skirmishes. For the battle of Magnuszewo on October 26, 1794, he received the order Pour le Mérite on December 12, 1794 . After the war on September 12, 1797, he received his resignation with a pension of 1000 thalers .

Bieberstein died unmarried in Tilsit.
