Kraineje ( Russian Крайнее , German  Juckstein, also: Dundeln [Good] as well: Pabuduppen, 1938-1945 Finkenhagen, lithuanian Jukščiai, also: Dundeliai and Pabudupiai ) is a place in the Russian Kaliningrad region and belongs to the local government unit Stadtkreis Krasnoznamensk in Krasnoznamensky District . The local offices of Dundeln [Gut] and Pabuduppen have been abandoned.

Geographical location

Kraineje is located on the Scheschuppe (1938 to 1945: East River) in the northwest of Krasnosnamensk Raion on the border with Neman Raion . The regional road 27A-025 (ex R508 ) runs through the village, which connects it with the former district town of Neman ( Ragnit, 17 km) and the current Rajon capital of Krasnosnamensk ( Lasdehnen / Haselberg 17 km). There is no train connection.

The former village of Juckstein consisted of a very large estate and a brick factory before 1945 and was located directly on the river bank of the Scheschuppe. As a result of the war, Juckstein came to the Soviet Union in 1945 along with all of northern East Prussia .

After the Juckstein district was dissolved, the Juckstein district became part of the Raudszen district (Rautengrund), while the other villages were incorporated into the Budwethen district (the place was called Altenkirch between 1938 and 1946, today in Russian: Malomoschaiskoje).

Dundeln

The earlier Dundeln was a large courtyard. The small village was from 1874 to 1945 in the District Budwethen (1938 to 1946: Malomoschaiskoje: Akltenkirch, Russian) incorporated, which until 1922 the county Ragnit , then to 1945 for the district Tilsit-Ragnit in Administrative district Gumbinnen the Prussian province of East Prussia belonged. Pabuduppen / Finkenhagen

Before 1945, the former village of Pabuduppen consisted of a few small farms. Like Dundeln, Pabuduppen belonged to the Budwethen district (Altenkirch, now: Malomoschaiskoje) in the Ragnit district (1922 to 1945: Tilsit-Ragnit district ) in the Gumbinnen district of the Prussian province of East Prussia since 1874 . In 1910 Pabuduppen had 133 inhabitants. Their number rose to 197 by 1933 and was still 171 in 1939. On June 3 - officially confirmed on July 16 - of the year 1938, Pabuduppen was renamed “Finkenhagen” for political and ideological reasons to defend against foreign-sounding place names. In 1945 this village also came to the Soviet Union .

Kraineje

In 1947 Juckstein was renamed "Kraineje" and at the same time assigned to the village Soviet Timofejewski selski Sowet in Krasnosnamensk Raion . Later the local offices of Dundeln [Gut] and Pabuduppen were also included in Kraineje. From 2008 to 2015 Kraineje belonged to the rural municipality Alexejewskoje selskoje posselenije and since then to the urban district of Krasnosnamensk.

The population of Juckstein, Dundeln and Pabuduppens (or Finkenhagen) was almost without exception of Protestant denomination until 1945 . While Juckstein belonged to the parish of the church Groß Lenkeningken (the place was called between 1938 and 1946: Großlenkenau, today Russian: Lesnoje), Dundeln and Pabuduppen (Finkenhagen) were in the parish of the church Budwethen (1938 to 1946: Altenkirch, today: Malomoschaiskoje) parish. Today Kraineje lies in the catchment area of ​​the newly established Evangelical Lutheran congregation in Sabrodino (Lesgewangminnen, 1938 to 1946 Lesgewangen) within the Kaliningrad provost of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of European Russia .
