Saretschnoje ( Russian Заречное , German  Tulpeningken , 1938 to 1945 Tulpeningen , also: Woitekaten , 1938 to 1945 Ostfurt , Lithuanian Tulpininkai , also: Vaitikaičiai ) is a place in the Russian Oblast Kaliningrad . It consists of two originally separate villages and is part of the local government unit Stadtkreis Krasnoznamensk in Krasnoznamensky District .

Geographical location

Zarechnoye with its two districts located on the north bank of the Scheschuppe (1939 and 1945 was: East River, Lithuanian: Šešupė, Russian: Шешупе) on the municipal street 27K-104, identified by the Rajonsstadt Krasnoznamensk (Lasdehnen / Costanosellari) according Pogranichny (Schillehnen / Waldheide) leads . Tulpeningken (Tulpeningen)

The district in the southwest, once called Tulpeningken , was a farming village until 1945. Between 1874 and 1945 the site was in the District Jucknaten incorporated. He was part of the Pillkallen district (1939 to 1945 "Landkreis Schloßberg (Ostpr.)") In the Gumbinnen administrative district of the Prussian province of East Prussia . In 1910, 424 residents were registered in Tulpeningken. Their number was 420 in 1933 and 384 in 1939.

For political and ideological reasons to avoid foreign-sounding place names, Tulpeningken was renamed "Tulpeningen" on June 3rd - officially confirmed on July 16th - in 1938. As a result of the war, the place came to the Soviet Union with northern East Prussia in 1945 .

Woitekaten (Ostfurt)

The smaller and formerly called Woitekaten district to the northeast was mentioned as early as 1625 and before 1945 consisted of a few small and large farms. Between 1874 and 1945 the place also belonged to the Jucknaten district (Meißnersrode).

In 1910, 107 inhabitants were registered in Woitekaten. Their number rose to 149 by 1933 and was 134 in 1939. On June 3, 1938, Woitekaten also received a new name and was called Ostfurt until 1946 . In 1945 the village was assigned to the Soviet Union .

Zarechnoye

The two once East Prussian villages Tulpeningken (Tulpeningen) and Woitekaten (Ostfurt) were combined in 1950 under the Russian name "Saretschnoje" and at the same time assigned to the village soviet Nemanski selski Sowet in the Krasnosnamensk district . Later (before 1975) Zarechnoye got into the Chlebnikowski selski Sowet . From 2008 to 2015 Zarechnoye belonged to the rural municipality Alexejewskoje selskoje posselenije and since then to the urban district of Krasnosnamensk.
