Alexejewka ( Russian Алексеевка ; German Klein Kackschen , 1938–1945 Kleinbirkenhain , Lithuanian Mažieji Kakšiai ) is a settlement in Krasnosnamensk Rajon in the Russian Oblast of Kaliningrad . The place is on the regional road 27A-025 (ex R508 ) between the district towns of Neman and Krasnosnamensk on the edge of the partially dismantled Kacksche Balis high moor and belongs to the municipal self-government unit of the Krasnosnamensk district .

history

The discovery of an East Baltic ax in the village suggests that people lived in this area many centuries ago. The first mention of small Kackschen in distinction to the southern United Kackschen dated from 1785. In 1874, Klein was Kackschen in the District incorporated Kackschen. When this was dissolved on October 15, 1909, the village moved to the district of Wedereitischken , which until 1922 belonged to the district of Ragnit , then - renamed the district of Sandkirchen in 1939 - to the district of Tilsit-Ragnit in the administrative district of Gumbinnen in the Prussian province of East Prussia . In 1938, Klein Kackschen was incorporated as a small birch grove in the Groß Kackschen, which has since been renamed Birkenhain.

In 1945 the place with northern East Prussia came to the Soviet Union and was renamed Alexejewka in 1947 . At the same time the place was assigned to the village soviet Timofejewski selski Sowet in Krasnosnamensk Raion . From 2008 to 2015 Alexejewka was the namesake of a rural community based in Timofejewo. In 2016 the place was incorporated into the newly formed Krasnosnamensk City District.
